Chetan Mathur is a chartered accountant with over 30+ years of global experience in finance leadership roles and over 23 years in PepsiCo (the food and beverages industry), with prior exposure to automobiles and fertilizers. His last role at PepsiCo was as Senior Director of Finance and Control at PepsiCo India (Region Controller).
He is currently advising companies (public & private) in controllership, internal controls, business strategy, finance transformation, and risk management. He is an Independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of Audit and Risk Committees at Prataap Snacks Ltd (a snack food company) and an Independent Non-Executive Director and Member of the Audit Committee at Mahindra HZPC P Ltd (a JV with HZPC Netherlands – potato seed company). He is also a member of the Audit Quality Advisory Board of M/s Walker Chandiok & Co LLP (Grant Thornton Bharat).
Chetan supports start-up companies and professional consultants as an Advisor and Board member. He is on the Board of many start-ups, such as Traktion Solutions P Ltd (Doctor 24×7), Terrainspotter Private Ltd (Travel Buddy), and Risk Educators P Ltd (which runs Global Risk Management Institute Gurgaon (GRMI).
He is also on the advisory panel of professional accounting firms SCV & Co LLP and BGJC Associates LLP.
In his 23 years with PepsiCo, he has implemented measures leading to top-line growth and bottom-line improvement across Asian businesses. He has worked in PepsiCo’s food, dairy, and beverage businesses. He was the CFO at Frito-Lay India and has led the control and reporting agenda as Asst Controller AMEA (in Asia, ME, Africa, and Australia) and as Director of Corporate Audit in Asia/Australia, Middle East, and Africa. His work was recognized with a CNBC Risk Management Award for FMCG (India) in 2015 and many PepsiCo CFO awards for Strategic Impact, Control Excellence, and People Management.
